Morphology

Lofty deciduous tree grows up to 30 m high, bark grey , smooth and lenticellate. Leaves are alternate, paripinnate and crowded at the apex of branches, leaflets 13-19, alternate or subopposite, oblong-lanceolate, entire, unequal sided, acute or acuminate at apex, glabrous. Flowers are yellowish-white in lax axillary panicles upto 50 cm long. Samaras are reddish brown, linear-oblong, rounded at both the ends

Distribution

It is found in Peninsular India, Srilanka, Myanmar, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, China and Australia
