It is a medium to large sized tree grows upto a height of 30 m with grey yellow trunk and 2-3 m in diameter. Leaves are leathery, pinnately compound, and alternate leaflets. Leaves are broad, ovate, hunse-like, acuminate, leaflet which is 6 cm long with fine pointed tip. Flowers are whitish to pink in colour, fragrant, nearly sessile, 5-8 mm long racemes, 2.5-3.7 cm long in short axillary panicles. Pods are flat, oblong, thin, strip like, 4-8 cm long, 1 cm wide with 1-4 seeds. Seeds are flat been shaped, 8-10 mm long. Plant has long tap root and numerous surface roots to produce suckers
It is globally distributed in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Israel, Afganistan, Persia, Iraq, Kenya, US and Tanzania
