It is viscid pubescent undershrub grows up to 75 cm tall. Leaves are trifoliate, terminal leaflet rhomboid, 5-8 X 4-6 cm, petioles are 4-6 cm long, stipules 5-6 mm long, subulate. Flowers are often branched racemes, pink-red coloured in axillary or terminal. Calyx lobes 2 mm long, subulate, hairy. Corolla is purplish 4-5 mm long. Stamens are diadelphous, 9+1, filament sheath 4mm long. Ovary is oblong, ciliate, unilocular, multicarpellary. Style subulate, stigma capitates Pods linear 0.5 cm, marginal hairs present. Seeds are 4-6, reniform
It is distributed throughout South India up to 900 m in the hills and also in Gujarat and tropical zone, Western peninsula, Ceylon up to 3000 ft. and Timor. It was also distributed in the Forest of Baratang Island in Middle Andaman group. Within India, it is distributed in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Gujarat
