Morphology

Medium sized deciduous tree. Stem bark is simple, grey and smooth. Bark is thick, red color from inside. Leaves are simple, oblong-obovate to oblanceolate, margin crenate serrate, apex obtuse, petiole glandular. Flowers are small, white or yellowish In colour. Fruit is ovoid with 5-angled drupe

Distribution

Natively present in India. Within India found in Sub-Himalayan tract, Maharashtra, Orissa, West Bengal, Punjab, Deccan and Konkan regions of India

Astringent, cooling, aphrodisiac, cardiotonic, fractures, ulcers, spermatorrhoea, leucorrhoea, diabetes, cough, tumor, excessive perspiration, asthma, inflammation and skin disorders
