Morphology
Shrubs or undershrub with 10 cm to 8 m in height. Leaves alternate, sinuate toothed. Upper leaves are smaller in size than the lower ones. Flowers are arranged in axillary and terminal racemes, greenish-yellow in colour. Capsule three lobed, 1.2 cm long. Seeds are ovoid in shape
Distribution
Globally distributed in India and Malaysia. Within India, it is distributed throughout the sub-Himalayan region from Khasi hills to Kashmir and also found in Bihar, West Bengal, Peninsular and Central India
Medicinal uses
Jaundice, Leucoderma, Skin diseases, wounds, asthma, bronchitis, abdominal tumor and also in gastric complaints
