About workshop

Linux is an open operating system that powers 100% of the world’s supercomputers. Linux drives most of the internet servers including over two billion Android devices. This workshop is for the beginners who wish to dive into the world of Linux where the participants will be introduced to Linux and learn the command prompt. This workshop is open for computer users who have limited or no previous experience with Linux, whether they are working in an individual, research or in an enterprise environment.


Open to students, research scholars, PhD students, academic faculty, industry personnel and individuals with an interest in skill development and adaptation to open source operating system.

    Introduction to Linux Operating System
    Learning Linux commands
    User, Group and File permission
    Remote access into Linux system via SSH
    Advance Linux usage
    Installation of tools and packages
